Mill Creek Residential Donates Over 200 Household Items To Habitat for Humanity of Broward ReStore

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fl. – Aug. 8, 2017 – Mill Creek Residential, a leading multifamily investor and operator specializing in premier apartment communities across the U.S., recently donated more than 200 household items to the Habitat for Humanity of Broward ReStore.

The company gifted furniture and appliances, including refrigerators, stoves, microwaves, dishwashers, countertops and cabinets from 40 apartments at Mill Creek’s Palm Place Community. “It takes donations from our community to make the Habitat Restore successful,” said Nancy Daly, Habitat Broward ReStore Co-Chair. “We are grateful to Mill Creek for showing their support of Habitat Broward.”

According to Daly, an estimated $12,000 in projected sales from ReStore will be put toward building a new home for a deserving family.

Through Habitat Broward, hardworking families can obtain affordable housing with a combination of sweat equity, homeownership coursework and a zero-interest mortgage.

“We are proud to play an important role in helping Habitat for Humanity provide safe, adequate and affordable housing to low-income families,” said Jeff Meran, Mill Creek’s senior managing director for the South Florida region. “Habitat for Humanity of Broward is truly empowering families to improve their lives, while strengthening many of the neighborhoods we serve.”

This is the second time Mill Creek has donated household items to the Habitat Broward ReStore. In 2014, Mill Creek gave the nonprofit store its biggest product donation at the time.
