Mill Creek sold Avenue H Apartments in March of 2016. The community had 2.5 levels of parking of which 1.5 levels are subterranean and offered immediate access to the super-popular and affluent Knox Street shopping and restaurant district as well as the Katy Hike and Bike Trail. Notably, there had not been another apartment community built in the immediate area in over 15 years due to zoning constraints and a scarcity of properly sized sites.

The community was directly on Central Expressway (US 75) one block north of Knox Street, just north of Uptown in the Knox Street neighborhood and adjacent to the affluent Town of Highland Park. Homes in Highland Park had an average market value of over $1.6 million. Avenue H was walking distance to high-end shopping and dining along Knox Street and Henderson Avenue. Shops and restaurants in the area included the Apple store, Pottery Barn, Restoration Hardware, Chuy’s Restaurant, Abacus, and Toulouse Café. Downtown Dallas is 2 miles south of the site. Dallas’ CBD was the city’s largest employment center with over 130,000 jobs. Southern Methodist University was 1 mile north of the community.

The development consisted of approximately 4,600 square foot club house, fitness center, and leasing office serving 208 units. Amenities included a resort-style pool, fitness center, leasing office and lounge. Apartment home amenities included gourmet kitchens with granite slab counters, wood cabinets with 42” upper cabinets, Energy Star® appliances, 9- to 10-foot ceilings with track and pendant lighting, vinyl wood plank flooring in kitchens and living areas, front loading washers and dryers, walk-in closets, garden tubs, and balconies on the majority of the apartments.
