Darius York

Vice President - Single-Family Rental Construction

Darius York serves as Vice President of Single-Family Rental Construction for the Georgia and Tennessee division. Mr. York started his career in New York City in commercial high-rise construction as a frame laborer apart of the Local Union 731. In 1997, he relocated to Northern Virginia where he began working in residential construction for Trafalgar House, an acquisition of Beazer Homes. After a few years with Beazer, he transitioned to Van Metre Homes managing construction of luxury single-family, townhome, and condominium communities in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area.

Mr. York was then recruited by KB Home and relocated to Georgia to regionally oversee new home construction in the Atlanta metropolitan area. Over the course of 25 years, Mr. York has worked in almost all capacities of residential home building, managing the new construction of thousands of single-family, townhome, and condominium projects, both for sale and rent in multiple markets across the North and Southeast regions.

Prior to joining Mill Creek, Mr. York was with SMS Assist as head of Regional Construction Operations for the Southeast. In addition to managing the construction of hundreds of single-family construction rental assets, Mr. York oversaw training and hiring and was a part of the overall strategic planning. Prior to this role, he was a Regional Area Manager with Meritage Homes and Vice President of Operations and development with Portfolio Homes.

Mr. York graduated from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and a minor in Project management.
