Mario Turner serves as Managing Director of Mill Creek’s Costa Mesa office where he leads the company’s development activities in Orange County and the Inland Empire. He has over 20 years of experience in land use planning, real estate development, and construction and has developed multifamily, transit-oriented, and senior communities as well as mixed-use projects.

Prior to joining Mill Creek, Mr. Turner was Senior Director at Jamboree Housing Corporation and oversaw all development activities including land acquisition, entitlements, financing, and construction. Prior to that, Mr. Turner was Vice President of Development at AMCAL Multi-Housing, where he opened the company’s regional office and led all aspects of the development process across the Orange County and San Diego market for nearly 15 years. He also led the company’s development expansion into Washington State. Before opening the Orange County office for AMCAL in 2006, Mr. Turner served as the Housing Development Administrator (Section Chief) for the County of Orange and as a Project Developer for Mercy Housing California.

Mr. Turner holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California at Berkeley and a Master in City Planning with a Real Estate Development emphasis from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Mr. Turner has served on various boards and advisory groups, including the Redevelopment and Housing Commission for Santa Ana as well as the Santa Ana City Planning Commission and is a member of the Urban Land Institute.
