William (Bill) MacDonald, a founding partner, is Mill Creek’s Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer, and President. Under Mr. MacDonald’s leadership, Mill Creek has developed or has, in its pipeline, 269 communities representing 79,000 homes with a total cost of over $28 billion. Mr. MacDonald helped lead the firm in creating an Investment Management platform and into the Single-Family Rental market.

Prior to his role as Chairman, CEO, and President, Mr. MacDonald served as Mill Creek’s Chief Investment Officer and President with overall responsibility for all development, construction, acquisition, and market research activity.

Before becoming a founding partner at Mill Creek, Mr. MacDonald served as Executive Managing Director of the Eastern United States for Trammell Crow Residential (TCR). During his tenure, his divisions developed over 40,000 units with a total capitalization of over $5 billion.

Mr. MacDonald received his Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Maryland and his Master of Business Administration from the Columbia Graduate School of Business. Mr. MacDonald has been a member of the National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC), the former Counselor to the five Multifamily Councils at the Urban Land Institute (ULI), and is currently a Governing Trustee at ULI.
